Default Running Far Cry 2 on an OLD AMD64 3000+

I've left gaming for sometime now, so haven't done much upgrading on my PC for about 4+ years... I've got Far Cry 2 from a work mate and i'm wondering if anyone with lower PC spec than minimum required have tried it...

My Machine:

AMD64 3000+ (2.0GHz)
2.5GB DDR400
ATI X600 XT 256MB PCI-E
150GB HDD

It may well work on a spec like that with everything on minimum but you'll only get about 2 fps so it's probably not really worth the effort. For instance crysis on my computer before i upgraded it ran at about 10-20 fps with an athlon 64 5000+ x2 and an ati x1300 and that was everything on minimum i think lol.

2fps? i can play doom 3 on onboard PC (max of 32 or 64MB System Memory for Video) when it came out - although the minimum requirement was 128MB or more Video RAM...

i think Far Cry 2 should run ok (on low settings ofcourse).. i will post after try out

ok 2 was possibly a bit of exaggeration but not by much i shouldn't think. According to interwebs x600 pro gets about 20 fps on doom 3. It's already 4 years old (the game that is). Crysis (similar engine to farcry 2) benchmarks for, say an x1300 @ 1280x1024 is about 1.9 fps. The x1300 is much much newer (x600 bout 2002, x1300 bout 2005) and more powerful and yet still has pathetically terrible benchmarks. I really think it's gonna be a bit of a waste of time and indeed money.
