YPN Beta survey!

Anybody else get an invitation to do a yahoo beta survey for $200? I don't have time to look into it at the moment. But if it's legit, it seems that you get $200 for doing a survey. At first it looks like the survey is only 10 min. long, but then it looks like the qualifying questions are 10 min long (you have to "qualify' in order to be able to do it).
Anyway ... anyone done it?

Are you talking abt the one from YahooResearch@evansres.com telling that they want you to take a survey about ypn Only worry if e-mails ask for vital private information like user ids and passwords like the ones with fake paypal and ebay mails.
Evansres.com is an online survey Company. It is often easier to outsource survey taking to another company that already has the technology to do it. Evansres.com will then collect the data and send them off to yahoo.

I filled out the survey but there was no mention of any $200. Sounds very phishy to me. The real survey didn't ask for any usernames or passwords, as I remember.

The email seems legitimate but they do ask for stats and website information (url's) which I found strange.

Also - don't be fooled with the $200. At the very end of the survey, they ask if they can visit your facility. If they decide to visit they will then pay you $200.

So, it seems you don't get anything in return for the survey except the opportunity to visit your facility for 3 hours.

An interview session of 3 hours with you at your place of business... And, as a token of our appreciation, you will receive a cash honorarium of $200 for your time and input. These sessions are scheduled to take place during the month of February.

It goes on to ask a few other questions. I told them I would be willing to give them a tour of our facility, so we'll see. I'll post if they do.

BTW - this came a few days after being contacted by YPN! customer service advocate (person assigned to your account). They are working with us to get correct targeted ads. Why the rep didn't ask us to participate in the survey I'm not sure, but I think I'll give him a call and ask about this; something I should have done before filling it out!

Actually, I started to do the qualifying questions, but then I backed out when they asked for my url. I guess I'm still distrustful of ad networks because of Google (never personally had any problems with Google, but I don't like the way they operate at all, and I don't want them knowing anything about me or my sites ... I simply don't trust them).

Anyway, rightly or wrongly, I guess I have more or less lumped Yahoo into the same category as Google. Maybe not such a bad assumption seeing how they simply kicked people out of their beta without warning and without any guidance as to what is too much international traffic and what isn't. I've never had any trouble with Yahoo either, but that little stunt they pulled made me perk up. I'm not one of those who thinks everything's rosy as long as it isn't happening to me. I know it could happen to me just as easily.

These ad networks are little like communist China or Russia (back in the day). The best way to survive is to just keep your head down. Then if you see a break to escape, take it and run with all your life. ... For me, that's my goal this year - to escape the shackles of Yahoo/Google/ and everyone else that can simply pull the rug out from under me whenever they please (without warning or due cause, I might add).

They said it would only take 10 mins. Then they asked what could be done to improve YPN. 3 hours later I was done.

LOL now that is a long survey. Have not received anything yet, but do not think I will do it anyways. Way to much to do now as it is between family and websites. Just one more thing to add to the mix and that would send the wife off the deepend I think.

See I missed something. I don't recall being offered money, I took the survey because I wanted to give feedback to make the service better.

I got this invitation today and its from real YPN. Essentially they want to get my feedback with actual visit to my office (and this interview? will run upto 3 hours!!). In return for my time they are offering 200$ cash.

I normally wouldn't participate in a survey, but this one seems interesting.

My wife for some reason gets invited to surveys about new cars all the time. Apparently she's THE target market for car companies. She even got us invited to take Porsche Cayenne's off-roading on a dirt track, but we had a vacation planned when they were doing it.

I wonder how many Home Offices they get to visit. LOL Can't wait to show them mine.
